Who We Are

Pedal over to Webb Park each Thursday evening this summer and join the festive, low speed, rule conscious party on two wheels.

Check back each week to find out the theme and the route.

Where We Ride

We meet in the parking lot of BREC’s Webb Park on Country Club off College Drive.

We will stay within a four mile radius of Webb Park, i.e. Midcity, Downtown, and LSU areas.

When We Ride
Every Thursday starting May 30 and ending July 25.

Arrive no later than 7:00 PM for routes and reminders. The ride leaves at 7:15 PM.

How We Ride
Our pace will be cruiser style. You’ll sweat because it’s summer in Louisiana, but not because we are pedaling fast. We may occasionally encounter hills or ride four miles without a break, but the intention is to keep it easy.

We stay on neighborhood streets where the speed limit is low.

We stay in one lane. If a bike lane is on the road, we will use it when cars approach.

We follow all traffic laws. The purpose of the party stops is to reunite. The pack acts as a single vehicle, but the group can separate briefly.

Laws include: leaders stopping and waiting at red lights as well as coming to a full stop at all stop signs.

People comfortable with leading will “cork” the bikes if necessary and lead the group to the next party stop. The first group will slow their roll as much as possible to allow time for reuniting.

For everyone’s safety, riders must be able to ride in a predictable manner. This ride depends on the predictability of its riders. If you plan to party with alcohol in your system, then please limit your intake.

Children seven years old and younger must be attached to their parent’s bicycle. This attachment can be a “tug-a-bug” tandem, a Burly-style carrier, or a baby seat.

Children twelve years old and younger are required by state law to wear a helmet. We strongly encourage everyone to do the same.

What We Ride
Any style bike is welcome.

Please come prepared with front and back lights as required by state law.

A smart rider also has a spare tube and tools to change a flat.

Why We Ride
We ride to have fun, meet our neighbors, see our neighborhoods, and develop a sense of community.

We have no political agenda and no ties to a specific bike group. We just like to ride bikes because we rediscover our sense of youthful freedom.
